On July 9th 1939, Pan Am's luxury Flying Boat, the "Yankee Clipper" landed at Foynes. This was the first commercial passenger flight on a direct route from the USA to Europe.
The Boeing B-314 has become the "quintessential" Clipper Flying Boat. In all there were twelve of the aircraft built but sadly none remain intact today to see.
Bill Fallover from Wicklow who is in the film set building business was commissioned to build a full size replica. He is an extremely imaginative and gifted craftsman. Working with his two sons Harry & Joe and working from Boeings original plans it took approximately 10 months to build our replica at their base in Co Wicklow.
