Holker Hall

Holker is a Norse word, which can be translated as 'a rising in marshy land'. Holker Hall has extensive parkland and gardens with informal and formal lay-outs, perfect for period drama filming or modern mysteries. Despite its grand scale, this handsome rose coloured neo-Elizabethan mansion and its Gardens provide a soft and gentle contrast to the surrounding countryside, which includes rolling landscape, rugged coast and mountains to the north.

The Estate also owns the Cartmel Racecourse with its impressive grandstand. Click here for more details of the racecourse. It also owns Burlington Slate and a large Quarry cave at Elterwater.

We can co-ordinate a wide variety of filming opportunities across the Estate and crews are welcome to visit by appointment.
