Houghton Lodge

Outside features include a restored 18th-century garden, 15 acres of lawns and water meadows. Lawns that sweep down to the river where there is also a landing stage. Other areas of interest include a chalk cob walled kitchen garden with vegetable parterre, Victorian greenhouses, orchid house and conservatory. There is a herbaceous border, wild flower meadow and topiary garden complete with a topiary puffing dragon. A dove cote, a tithe barn and a summer house overlooking the river. There is a charming bridge crossing the river.

Houghton Lodge is a popular film location, being only 1 1/2 hours from London on the M3 and A30. There are many places for film crews to stay locally. There is ample parking for lorries and excellent facilities for everyone. The owners love having film crews to their property and welcome them warmly.
