Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway
Is a 15" gauge railway which runs across the Romney Marsh from the Cinque Port town of Hythe to Dungeness a distance of 13.5 miles. We have 11 steam locomotives in all, 7 Greenly Pacifics which are all over 80 years old, 2 Canadian Pacifics which are 72 years old, the Bug which was the engine used in building the railway and Black Prince which is over 70 years old and was purchased in the 1970s. There are also 2 Diesel engines which were delivered to the railway in the 1980s.
At Hythe and New Romney stations there are railway shops with a wide range of gifts,DVD's and books also at New Romney is the Model Land Exhibition and Museum. At Dymchurch and Dungeness there are smaller shops. New Romney has a cafe where you can get a cooked snack, and Dungeness cafe is renowned for its local fish and chips.
We do a Romney Rover ticket which entitles you to a day on the railway where you can break your journey at any stations and alos visit Model Land Exhibition all included in that ticket.
