SOMERLEY - PRIVATE STATELY HOME

Somerley is a private eighteenth century stately home, sitting in 7000 acres of Hampshire countryside, built by Samuel Wyatt in 1750. The magnificent house is still home to The 6th Earl of Normanton, and it sits majestically above hundreds of acres of rolling parkland through which the River Avon wends it way.

Somerley is famous for the spectacular 80' Gallery which houses pictures, porcelain and furniture bought by The 2nd Earl and Countess on their Grand Tour of Europe in the early 1800s. While the State Rooms are breathtaking, the house still retains all the warmth of a family home, with a cellar which houses not only wine but an intimate billiard room.

The total seclusion and privacy of the Estate provides ideal and unusual filming opportunities. From the circular ice house, to the Georgian stable block, traditional farming using horse drawn plough, golf, tennis and beekeeping, an Old Forge and Fisherman's Hut and a plethora of original cottages and follies provides a diversity of traditional and modern filming options.

Somerley welcomes film and production companies and has on-site facilities for support crews.
