Tinakilly House Hotel
Ti na Coille - House of the Wood - a Victorian mansion steeped in history, Tinakilly was built by the British government in 1883 for Captain Robert Halpin, commander of "The Great Eastern" and mariner supreme who laid 2,600 miles of telegraphic cable in 1866, joining Europe to America.
The elegant bedrooms reflect the Victorian period and also provide all modern comforts. The period rooms of the west wing feature four poster and half tester canopy beds. In the east wing, most of the antique appointed Junior Suites and Captain Suites offer breathtaking views over the Irish Sea whilst the remainder offer sweeping views the gardens. Or, for sheer indulgence, enjoy the sumptuous Admiral's State Room.
