Probably the most authentic WW2 Bomber Command Station left in UK; the Yorkshire Air Museum provides an atmospheric location for both documentary and dramatic film-work. Added to the numerous historic listed buildings in this 20 acre park and woodland setting, over 50 historic aircraft and vehicles compliment the venue. From the 1903 Wright Flier, 1915 biplane fighters, authentic four engined Halifax Bomber, Mosquito, Messerschmitt and Spitfire from WW2 through to the Cold War fighters and very latest Gulf War Tornados and Buccaneers, the Museum provides a setting for aviation themes covering over a century of flight. Filming is regularly undertaken by BBC, ITV & Channel 4 plus numerous independents. The Museum is able to assist with appropriate props, re-enactors etc and has been used as a setting for, "A Touch of Frost"; "Wish you Were Here" etc. plus filmed advertisements.
