Parkstead House

Grade I listed Parkstead House was designed for the 2nd Earl of Bessborough in the 1760's by Sir William Chambers - who was also the architect for Somerset House and the Pagoda at Kew Gardens.

The Earl commissioned Chambers to design a Palladian style villa to display his classical sculpture collection and to entertain his guests away from the hustle and bustle of central London. There are five interconnecting rooms which retain many of their original features such as fireplaces, chandeliers and decorative ceilings.
