Airlie Castle

Sitting on a rocky outcrop above the confluence of the rivers Isla and Melgum is Airlie Castle. It has been in the Earl of Airlie’s family since the 12th century. Destroyed by fire after Lady Ogilvy refused to reveal the whereabouts of the family treasure to the raiding Campbells the walls hold little echo of this turbulent past. Now a warm and welcoming family home, this hidden gem sits amidst 10 acres of grounds. The tree lined drive draws the visitor down into the heart of the Castle which provides comfortable accommodation for up to 14 with the adjoining cottage accommodating a further 4. The full size billiard table and library provides entertainment in times of inclement weather.

Features include the beautiful landscaped walled garden with – laburnum arch walk - grass tennis court and ample parking area. The house has been used in the past for fashion shoots.
