Light Camera Action on Anglesey

Parys Mountain

To see industrial dereliction on a grand scale, and appreciate the effect that mining can have on a landscape, take a trip to the Isle of Anglesey. Looking across the Great Opencast it is hard to believe you are in rural Wales. Today the mountain is an incredible lunar landscape of rock stained red, orange and purple by the weathering of ore deposits. This spectacular site has drawn TV Producers to Anglesey. In fact a shot of Parys Mountain has appeared in Dr Who!
