Twyn yr Hydd House,
Margam Country Park

Margam Country Park provides the perfect backdrop for commercial photography and film. The Parks impressive architecture and scenery provides an inspirational setting for filming, from period dramas, to factual documentaries and modern feature films. Margam Country Park is an 850 acre country estate with a listed landscape comprising broad leaved, coniferous and mixed woodlands, open grasslands, Deer Park, lakes and streams.

Within the estate is Twyn Yr Hydd House. The house was built in 1890-3 by Emily Charlotte Talbot for her new land agent, Edward Knox. The 1901 Census shows that Land Agent Gordon Lipscombe was living at the house. The house forms part of a self-contained estate within a larger estate with gardens and outbuildings surrounded by walls, a ha-ha and entrance gates. The house, like Margam Castle was supplied with electricity from the estate.
